THE WINTER’S TALE

by William Shakespeare
adapted & directed by Kate Drummond

FEB 2025
produced by UW School of Drama
Floyd & Delores Jones Playhouse

Part fairy tale, part psychological drama, and wholly transformative, this fresh adaptation weaves together heartbreak and hope, betrayal, and redemption —ultimately proving that even the coldest winters give way to spring. Trickster-turned-narrator Autolycus sets out to tell a story about how only the cunning get ahead, but he learns along the way that the world isn’t that cut and dry.

In this thought-provoking, and deeply human production, tragedy meets comedy, fairytales hold truth, and — no matter how long the winter — spring always comes.
